China, Uighur and Eclipse 2009
China faced Uighur unrest on Sunday, July 5th 2009. In the city of Urumqi (Urumchi) in the province of Xinjiang, northwestern China, violence broke out. The unrest led to the deaths of 156 people; 800 people were injured. The conflict has dimensions that are political, ethnic and religious. Timing of this sudden eruption comes in the background of the Triple Eclipses of July August 2009. We analyze the astrological aspect.
In our earlier blog, Shanghai, China and Solar Eclipse 2009 Astrology we presented the Vedic Horoscope of People’s Republic of China dated October 1st 1949 which is shown here. The Ascendant is Capricorn eight degrees and seventh lord moon is close to the ascendant at nine degrees Capricorn.
On July 5th, 2009, two days before the lunar eclipse, Rahu by transit was at Capricorn seven degrees within two degree of these natal sensitive points of ascendant and moon. Rahu represents suddenness, Mars aspect from 7th house adds violence to it. Ascendant Lord Saturn is by transit is in eighth house sign Leo close to its natal position.
The coming solar eclipse of July 22nd and August 6th are close to these sensitive points as we discussed in our earlier blog. Eclipse point are energy junctions and the planets in a horoscope in conjunction with or aspecting the eclipse point are eclipse significators. These considerations reinforces our earler predictions of uneasy time for China in months ahead.
